Assalamu Alaikum
Dear Noble Parents,
We hope this message finds you in good health. We are excited to announce that we will be hosting our second annual spelling bee competition for all students in grades first to eighth; this is a wonderful opportunity for our young scholars to showcase their spelling skills. We understand that participation in events like this requires a lot of preparation and can sometimes bring about feelings of anxiety. However, we aim to help students grow by engaging in healthy competitions that build their resilience. At Noble, we strive to ensure that throughout our students’ journey, they are exposed to experiences that enhance their ability to handle pressure, manage anxiety, and gracefully accept both wins and losses. This spelling competition is just one of the many ways we support their growth.
We look forward to seeing the amazing display of talent and hard work from our scholars!
The competition will unfold in two segments:
In-Class Spelling Bee (First Segment)
Date: Monday, November 4
In this segment, students are required to study the word list for their respective grades. Once they master their grade list, students should commence studying the word list for the next grade, just in case the first list is completed in the competition. Three finalists will be selected from each grade level to compete in the in-school competition.
Date: Wednesday, December 4
- 8:15–9:15 a.m.: Competition for the top three finalists in first and second grades
- 10:00–11:15 a.m.: Competition for the top three finalists in third through fifth grades
- 1:30–2:45 p.m.: Competition for the top three finalists in sixth through eighth grades
In this segment, the three finalists selected on Monday, November 4, 2024, will compete against other finalists in their respective age brackets. Participants in this segment should have the attached 2024–2025 school spelling bee study list studied and mastered.
Each bracket will have a first, second, and third place. Brackets are first and second grades, third through fifth grades, and sixth through eighth grades.
The three first-place winners in our middle school bracket will be the Noble representative at the Regional Spelling Bee on March 11, 2025.
Awards:
- First place: Trophy and $100 cash prize
- Second place: Trophy and $75 cash prize
- Third place: Trophy and $50 cash prize
Important Notes:
Attached are the lists that students need to prepare for the competition. These lists include:
- Study Lists for each grade level, from first grade to eighth grade: Please assist your child in preparing at home by mastering their grade list and progressing to the next grade once accomplished.
- School Spelling Bee Study List: This comprehensive study list includes all 450 words from the individual grade-level lists. The school spelling bee will begin with words selected from this complete list, so it's important to prepare thoroughly.
